Power in the Authority Christ gave us

As we walk through these trying times that we are in right now, it is vital to remember that Jesus Christ gave us HIS authority! How we function in that authority is directly related to our confession.

Matthew 16:13-1 KJV

13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not [a]prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth [b]will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

The church has been built upon the Rock! The rock of revelation...the revelation that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. There are so many things to pull out of this section of scripture, but what I want you to see here is that through your confession that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, you are tapping into the very power of Christ!

Luke 9:1-2 KJV

1 Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. 2 He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

The authority we have is no good unless we have the Power! The power comes from the ONE backing us. We are HIS disciples...in HIS power! When Jesus sent out the 70 disciples, they returned in Luke 10:17 and said "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in YOUR NAME. They were surprised that they could function in such power. That power only came when they used it in Jesus' name.

Luke 10:18-19

And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Jesus Christ has given us all power of the enemy. So, if He has given us the Keys of the Kingdom, then we have authority. Keys give us authorization. We are authorized to enter and exit, to open and close, to lock and unlock. We are authorized to conduct business or Kingdom Transactions on behalf of the one who gave us the keys!

Many of us right now are scared. We are scared of all the chaos happening in the world today. We are crying out to the Lord for and intervention. I fully believe that God can and will bring a suddenly in this time, to wake up the world. I believe He will use the chaos to bring many to the knowledge of Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. I also believe that as the church we need to go to the Lord and, not just ask for the intervention, ask for illumination. Lord, illuminate what you are doing in this hour. Illuminate the precious things we need to be concerned about. Illuminate to us, your church, how we can be your hands and feet in this hour. Illuminate in us how to use your authority, through confession, prayer, and service to our community. Lord, Illuminate in us Your Peace that surpasses all understanding.

Beloved, do not let the enemy steal your peace! Even in the chaos that is going on in the world right now, Christ still reigns! We must not forget that! You still have the authority over all works of the enemy. Stay focused on HIM. Let HIM show you His peace, and let HIM show His abundance! Stand in the authority Christ gave you, and refuse to let the enemy steal your peace!

You are a child of the Most High! A joint heir with Christ!

I Love you all,
